What we repair
Roof repairs for Didsbury homes
From a single slipped slate to a leak that’s been getting worse for months, these are the repairs we’re called out for most. Each one starts with finding out why the roof has failed, so the fix lasts.

Every repair starts with the cause
We find out why the roof has failed before we fix it, so the repair lasts.
All roof repairsSlipped and broken slates or tiles
Replacing cracked, slipped and missing slates or tiles, matched as closely as we can to what is already on the roof.
Leaks and damp patches
Tracing where the water is actually getting in, which is often not directly above the stain on the ceiling.
Flashing and lead work
Renewing tired or split lead and flashing where the roof meets chimneys, walls and dormers.
Chimney repairs
Repointing chimney stacks and replacing the lead work around them when damp is coming in at the chimney.
Ridges and gable ends
Re-bedding loose ridge tiles and repairing gable ends that have started letting the weather in.
Flat roofs and gutters
Repairs to flat roofs on extensions, garages and dormers, including GRP fibreglass, with gutters and roofline seen to at the same time.

Who we help
Older roofs, extensions and everything in between
Many Didsbury houses are older properties with natural slate or clay tile roofs, tall chimneys, bay windows and dormers. Roofs like these hold up well for a long time, but the details wear: slates slip as their nails corrode, mortar crumbles on ridges and chimneys, and lead splits with age.
Plenty of homes have also been extended, with flat roofs over kitchens, garages and dormers that need attention sooner than the main roof. Whether you own the house, let it out or are getting a problem sorted before a sale, we repair all of them.
How it works
From first call to finished repair
Tell us what you’ve noticed
A call, email or the form below. Let us know what you’ve seen and roughly where in Didsbury the house is.
We look at the roof itself
We come out and inspect the problem in person rather than pricing from a photo, so the quote covers the actual cause.
A straight quote first
You get a verbal or written quote before anything is booked in. If there’s more than one way to fix it, we explain the options.
The repair, done properly
We keep you posted while we work and leave the site tidy, with a repair we’re happy to put our name to.
Pricing
What affects the cost of a roof repair
No two roof repairs are priced the same, which is why we don’t publish prices. We look at the roof first and then give you a verbal or written quote, with no work booked in until you’re happy with it. These are the things that make the biggest difference.
Ask for a quoteGetting to the problem
A low roof reachable by ladder costs less to work on than one that needs scaffolding, especially on three-storey houses or over a conservatory.
What the roof is made of
Natural slate, clay or concrete tiles and flat roof coverings all cost different amounts to repair, and older materials can take more effort to match.
How far the damage has spread
A leak caught early may only need a few slates or a strip of flashing. Left longer, water can rot battens, underlay and timbers that then need replacing too.
Chimneys, valleys and dormers
Leaks around chimneys, valleys and dormers usually involve lead work and more detailed work than a run of plain roof.

Reviews
Customers on our roof work
Had a new roof fitted and the whole job was quick, tidy and properly done, at a much better price than other quotes. Communication throughout was excellent.
Rosie MooreGoogle review
Called Paul out about a damp smell and he tracked it straight back to the chimney needing re-pointing and new lead work. He kept me updated with photos while I was away working, and the damp issue cleared up within a few weeks of the job finishing.

Paul re-pointed our porch and chimney to a really high standard, then went on to do the same job at my daughter's house. Came in cheaper than other quotes and also sorted our roof and gable end.

FAQs
Roof repair questions
Still got a question?
Call us to talk your roof through, or send a message and we’ll come back to you.
Do you carry out roof repairs in Didsbury?
Yes. PS Construction Services carries out roof repairs on houses across Didsbury. Call 07534 528086 or send a message and we’ll arrange a time to come and look.
How much does a roof repair in Didsbury cost?
It depends on how easy the roof is to reach, what it’s made of and how far any damage has spread, so we don’t quote without seeing it. We inspect the roof and give you a verbal or written quote before anything is booked in.
Can my roof be repaired, or does it need replacing?
Most roof problems can be repaired. If a repair will do the job, we’ll tell you, and if the roof has reached the point where repairs are no longer good value, we’ll explain why so you can decide.
Do you repair flat roofs as well as slate and tiled roofs?
Yes. We work on natural slate and tiled roofs, and on flat roofs including GRP fibreglass, which is common on extensions, garages and dormers.
Will my roof repair need scaffolding?
Not always. Some repairs can be done safely from a ladder or roof ladder, while others need scaffolding because of the height or where the problem is. We’ll tell you which when we quote, and include it in the price.
Can you fix a leak around my chimney?
Yes. Damp around a chimney is often down to worn mortar or failed lead work, and we repoint chimney stacks and renew the lead around them.
